Learning MAKEUP from scratch - IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE???
Dear Diary,
I am now 25 years old. WTH. As much as I'd love to scream "QUARTER LIFE CRISIS, COME AT ME!!!" Gosh, believe me - my entire 25 years of existence (and still counting) IS A CRISIS!!! But hey, we all go through different struggles... (this is where I should feel better already).
One of those "struggles" was coming through after a breakout (probably going to write about this too, even when nobody's going to read it). Now that I'm finally able to come through, I've decided to dive into makeup. Back when I worked as sales and marketing at a production house, everyone would urge me to glam up and it was something I was afraid to try. Coming in on time and not letting the stress show on your face (working in video production meant less to zero sleep) was also something I struggled with. When you meet with clients most of the time, looking haggard is a HUGE no-no.
QUICK BACKSTORY:
What frightens me was that it would take much time and money - both of which my lazy a$$ won't be able to handle... but here we are, subscribed and updated with the latest Jeffree Star videos and wearing full makeup at home. Is it really possible to learn makeup on YouTube from scratch?
It all started when my boyfriend decided to get me something from Sephora on one of his trips to the US. SURPRISE, it was a Fenty Beauty Killawatt Highlighter Duo - too much for my brain cells to process at the time. It was amazing to own something by Rihanna, I felt like a total HYPEBEAST, only to find out that it was a finishing touch... and that it was the darkest shade so there were zero chances for me to use it.
MAKEUP IS COMPLICATED. There's a lot to it than meets the eye (LITERALLY). Being a total addict (with sneakers, fragrance, etc.) and competitive, my boyfriend decided to redeem his self and promised a birthday present on my 25th birthday (it was last month). We became thesis partners and researched everything about MAKEUP.
After around a couple of months, I ended up having this Gladking Cosmetic Case in ROSE GOLD, because we like being extra (black was out of stock), oozing with makeup products. If you are curious about what's inside it or want to know if I was actually able to learn by watching tutorial videos, WATCH THIS!!!
My learning doesn't end there. In fact, this is just the beginning... it's just that I've been dying to share this! Tips and suggestions are welcome, of course! It's my first (almost) complete makeup kit, so if you're just about to start yours, you might find this useful!
Looking back, I feel like such a late bloomer. Lipstick was the very first makeup I owned and started using it when I was already in college. From lipstick to eyebrows, contour, and highlight... wow! What a journey! I'd love to share this with anyone who's afraid (even insecure) to try. Practicing sure does take a lot of time, effort, and money, but it will all be worth it once you set your face and look in the mirror!

Check out how "irresponsible" I am here

I'm a lazy girl and looked like a 12-year-old ever since I was 12. One day, someone guessed that I was 27... she died and I killed her. (JUST KIDDING)
