I was on TV!!!

Dear Diary,

When I first thought about writing this, I wanted to say that it is EVERYONE's dream to be on TV... but is it? I feel like, maybe, it was just most people I know.

There was a time when it was my dream. I remember practicing signatures as a kid. You know, for when I sign autographs in the future? Lol. Then came college, when I had a few opportunities to attend VTRs under a certain talent agency. As a student, being a background talent for TVCs was one of my rackets (aside from teaching cheerleading to kids and ushering at events). However, my guardian did not want me to "waste" time and money on auditioning so I did not exactly fulfill that dream. It's also kind of funny to think about it now.

Anyways, this is just one of the perks I get from being a content creator and I enjoyed being a panelist on 'Ang Pinaka' on GMA News TV because of the topic. I got to talk about acts of kindness that went viral on the internet on TV! Although I didn't catch it (it aired last, last Sunday, January 5, and they didn't inform me!!!), a couple of friends and my boss were able to take some snaps, luckily.

I also found some short clips on YouTube!

This is my personal #1 because I can personally relate to it that I actually got emotional when I first saw this and also while taping. I did the same thing to my father, my very first gift to him as a taxpaying adult (lol).

SHOES - out of many, many, things - because it's something you wear every day to get to work. As for my dad, he loves to go to places and I want to give him something that will remind him of me everywhere he goes, and that he can fulfill his dream, job, and obligations comfortably.

For some people, shoes are but a collection or a statement. Some get to choose from a variety of sneakers or heels but there are others who simply need a single pair to perform duties for their family and to the community.

But of course, every single act of kindness, may it be big or small, fills my heart with joy knowing that there are still people who genuinely empathize with each other. As said in the Netflix movie 'Klaus', even a simple act of kindness always sparks another.

To content creators like me, I hope more of us would prioritize spreading stories like these to inspire one another given the "power" to "influence" our followers.

Love,
G.
